246. Bach’s first secret Inspiration in Arnstadt

246. Bach’s first secret Inspiration in Arnstadt

And they continued to dream their Peony Gondola dream and they saw this vision:

* * *

After 5 weeks a young handsome 18 year old man now stepped in this bakery shop beside the church (Today the Johann Sebatian Bach Church) in Arnstadt and wanted to buy some bread. The bakers daughter was 21 year old, 3 years elder then this man.
Although she did not know that he is the famous Johann Sebastian Bach she was nevertheless very lucky smiling and very friendly as she saw him the first time.
»I take this…and….please I take this little bread, and….could I have this nice little fine fresh breads over there….«
»Of course Sir…«, she said very lucky because he was interested in her new Italian creation.
»…Is this a special creation, this fine bread?«
»Oh, yes, it is a special old baker’s creation from Venice…It was invented by the secret love of the famous painter Palma il Giovane, the Master scholar of Master Titian. She played lute like me…her name was Palmina Albina…«
Johann Sebastian stopped moving as he took the fine white fresh bread in his hands and she was also holding also the same piece with her hands and she smiled. Now he looked up to see her face and to see her eyes, so he realized that she
wear a yellow white traditional cloth.
»Oh, you are a musician! You play the lute…?«, he asked.
»Yes, I studied all the old masters from the 16th century till now and I can play the harpsichord. My mother has one at home…and, and, and I sing Soprano very well..«, she said like an innocent little girl although she was 21 years old.
»5 Weeks ago a great musician played on our new organ as opening concert. He
played so wonderfully. I felt in love but I had never seen him again.«
Johann Sebastian Bach smiled and looked for a long while into her direction. Yes, they are completely alone in this moment, in this little fine bakery shop at Arnstadt beside the church where Bach played.
»Can I have a fresh coffee?«, the young famous organ virtuosi said.
»Of course, sir, please, take a seat over there on the little table I will cook for you fresh coffee«.
Johann Sebastian sat down to the table and felt very inspired.
Inside his heart he heart a storm of music and sound. At this moment something changed inside his heart. Till today Bach wanted only to be a famous Violinist, a famous Organist and a famous harpsichord player.
But now he hears music in his heart and now in this moment he would like to compose a little piece for lute maybe a „Praeludium in C-Major“.
Johann Sebastian Bach understood: Palmina did not only do her Job as baker to make traditional bread every day, SHE CREATED A NEW CREATION: The little fine white fresh breads in Venice – which are known also today in the 18th century at Arnstadt.

This is like a musician not only playing music, but is also making own creation as music compositions.

Johann Sebastian Bach is inspired: »I have to create also an own composition like
the creative bakers daughter…«.
During she cooked smiling the coffee and prepared it so nice Bach felt „at home“,
now sitting here. He took a piece of paper and started to write a piece which is known in the future as „Praeludium in C-Major“ of the „Well tempered piano – part I“.
But in its version for lute. (Bach wrote later several versions about this praeludium in the future).
The bakers daughter stopped working as she saw that his handsome man is now writing his first composition in his life. Yes, this moment is the beginning of over thousands of compositions he will write in the future.

246 Praeludium in C BWV 846

picture – manuscript of Bach’s Praeludium in C- Major, BWV 846

The bakers daughter understood and could feel „SHE is the women who made Johann Sebastian a composer“, she is his Saint Cecilia and she is his inspiration.
Now she brought him the fresh coffee in a nice can and smiled as she saw how fast Bach wrote on his music sheet and that he wrote „Praeludium“ and he wrote „Lute“ on it. She got red on her innocent cheeks and she felt now that she is not a little girl any more.
A mystic warm energy came from heart to heart between him and her.

Bach smiled and the bakers daughter smiled.

245. Bach’s first secret love in Arnstadt

245. Bach’s first secret love in Arnstadt

And they continued to dream their Peony Gondola dream:

* * *

This year 1581 was a very important year for the life of Palma and Palmina.
It was on the one hand a good year but it was also a year of big decision.

* * *

At the next morning Palma and Palmina read in the newspaper:

»A big burning incident happened in Arnstadt city in Germany. Nearly the whole city was destroyed and burned. Also the Organ was completely destroyed. It will take decades to reconstruct the city and a new organ there…«, Palma said to Palmina.

»Oh, the poor people of Arnstadt…«, Palmina said.
* * *

Suddenly the Peony Gondola showed them a talk between Mozart and his talented piano playing and composing Sister Nannerl:.

»…and this really happpened? Bach was in Venice secretly with his wife and with 2 of his 4 daughters?«

»Yes, Nannerl, I know this from one of his daughters. Our family has a very good friendship to the Bach family. You remember, I learned from a Bach son, they call him the London Bach. And, and,…the daughter of Bach said if we have financial problems we should write them and the Bach daughters will collect money so that they can send money to us to help us…«

»Oh, really,«, Nannerl Mozart said, »they are really good friends, good musician friends…We all love the Bach-family«.

»So a Bach daughter told me this secret story about Bach. – Nannerl, Natschi, Tschini Fibi! – Listen:…«

And Mozart gave Nannerl a tender kiss on her talented hands and on her cheeks and he begun the secret story and it was like that:
* * *

As Bach explained to his daughter Elisabeth that the well-known famous painter Palma il Giovane had his big family flat in the 2nd floor left beside the Astronomic Clock on the San Marco Place, the Bach family all went to have a fine walk along the big promenade along the „Riva degli Schiavoni“ in the south direction.

After a long walk they went in a left street which led them to the »Campo Bandiera e Moro«, a big place.

picture 01 view from the big place at Palmina's bakery shop »Campo Bandiera e Moro« in Venice.png
picture 01 view from the big place at Palmina’s bakery shop »Campo Bandiera e Moro« in Venice

At the »Calle de la pieta« they sat down to a little bakery cafe to have a rest.

Daughter Elisabeth gave the little cage with the yellow canary bird on the table and little ‚Pipsy‘ started suddenly to make: »Peep, peep, peep!«.

»What’s with you, Pipsy, why are you so excited…?«

Bach looked around and looked to the bakery shop, and looked again at the place.

»Anna Magdalena«, which was 15 years younger then his husband Johann Sebastian, felt that something is going on in his heart but she did not ask, maybe he has an inspiration.

„This bakery shop, this big place…this looks also…this remembers me…oh, my old remembering…my first…she was my first….yes, the lute playing bakers daughter…“

Bach seemed to be excited. Never his daughter had seen him so emotionally looking around in his whole live.

picture 02 Venice at Palminas bakery shop.png

picture 02 Venice at Palminas bakery shop

»Daddy, what’s wrong with you…you have been here on that place..? You have remembering…remembering on this bakery shop with a lute playing baker’s daughter…«

Anna Magdalena remembered in this moment that Bach was strongly inspired to compose a lot of Lute music piece and it is e secret why this instrument really inspired him so much.

»Peep, Peep, Peep«, made the little yellow canary bird and Bach understood his beloved yellow canary bird. The bird seems to tell him all his remembering.

»Oh, It is a very emotional remembering.

picture 03 Arnstadt-Schlossmuseum-Baeckerei-mon-plaisir-18-Jhr-1983.jpg

picture 03 Arnstadt-Schlossmuseum-Baeckerei-mon-plaisir-18-Jhr-1983

As I was 18 years old, you know as I was officially playing the first time on the Organ in Arnstadt…hmmmm. I remember very good, this sunny day, it was the…13th of July in the year 1703…what a day…want you really hear this story???

…it was my first love…«

»Oh, Daddy how Romantic, tell us we want to know…Daddy’s first love with 18 years.«

»Peep,peep,peep…«, made Pipsy and jumped excited agreeing in his little wooden cage around.

Anna Magdalena did not know this episode of Bach’s early live. She smiled shy and was interested to hear about that.

picture 04 Bach Praeludium in C-Magior.jpg

picture 04 Bach Praeludium in C-Magior

»Yes, In Arnstadt…yes, she was my first love and she brought me to be a composer. She inspired me to compose the Capriccio, I later dedicated also to to my brother, but it was composed for her and the Preludium in C-major…and piece for Organ ‚Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern‘ – because she was the morning star on my horizon shining for me… and,…ok, I tell you…«

And Bach begun to tell the story, sitting at the Campo Bandiera e Moro in Venice at the baker’s shop at the ‚Calle de la Pieta‘.

For a moment he had tears in his eyes and Anna Magdalena realized it and put his hand on his right arm.

»Yes, but without her I would never decide to be a composer I would never meet your mum later as composer and we would never get married and you, my little daughters would not now be here with us here in Venice…“

* * *

And Bach started to tell the little love-story and it was like that:

picture 05 Arnstadt - Johann Sebastian Bach Church.png

picture 05 Arnstadt – Johann Sebastian Bach Church

On the 13th of July in the year 1703 Bach was invited to test the new Organ in Arnstadt. The Church was full of people and they wanted all to listen how the new organ of Johann Friedrich Wender was sounding.
The people had to wait a long period since the city burned in the year 1581.

The place was full of people. All the people wanted to listen and to see the new organ of the church.

picture 06 left view to the historic bakers shop.png
picture 06 left view to the historic bakers shop

A young bakers daughter from a shop direct on the left side of the entrance came out of her shop as she listened Bach’s organ playing.

She opened her mouth like to hear a miracle.

Yes, she stopped her work in her shop. But she could not see me.

picture 07 Bach-Organ in the Johann Sebastian Bach Church.png
picture 07 Bach-Organ in the Johann Sebastian Bach Church

First she only listened Bach without seeing how he looks like.
A big familiar feeling went through her heart. She was sure she knows him. Yes, he is an old soul and their souls are friends, deep music loving friends.

»Hach, why this talented musician is only testing our new Organ? Why he comes not and played always for us…?«, The mother of the baker’s daughter said.
She heard the organ also playing and stood now beside her daughter.
The baker’s daughter wanted to hide her fascination for Bach’s Organ playing, but mother realized very fast and smiled understanding.

picture 08 Entrance of Bach Church in Arnstadt.png

After the concert the people of Arnstadt where fascinated and applaud not only for the quality of the sound of the organ also for the way the compositions Johann Sebastian played.

The people said »We have to ask him to stay in our city to be our Organ playing musician…he is the best musician and best organ expert…«

– »Congratulation, such a good organ and such a good performance…«
»Great, great, we want more concerts from Mr.Bach«

And as Bach left the church he was surrounded by the people of Arnstadt like a shooting star.

The baker’s daughter wanted to see how Johann Sebastian is looking like, but she could not see him, so much people are outside at the place around the church.

»If he would come in our bakery shop? This amazing Organ playing star?«, the bakers daughter said to her mother and again her mother understood and smiled.

picture 11 young women wearing traditional cloth of the 18th century.jpg

»He played so wonderful the Organ like Apollo. We could even hear his concert outside here on the street.

Let us pray that the heaven decides to lead his way to us, mother…«
And again mother smiled silent and understood.

After they saw this Peony Gondola Vision Palmina put her head on Palma’s side and they heart suddenly a music like that:

After they read the newspaper standing on the San Marco Place a lot of pigeon had landed around them and looked up to them as if they did understand the newspaper.
Now the pigeons flew to the Gondola which was waiting for them at the other end of the San Marco Place.

Both went there and Palmina and Palma entered a Gondola .Palma helped her to enter the Gondola and smiled.

Palmina smiled and said: »Palma, I am so proud on you. Cardinale Borromaeus will visit our „Le Zitelle Orchestra“ on Giudecca and the „Cantico delle Creature“ will be performed, and, and your painting will be presented at the Chiesa Il Redentore.

And Palma and Palmina looked sideways to the island Giudecca and smiled.
Soon the big traditional ‚Il Redentore festival‘ will start here in Venice.

Palmina put her hand on Palma’s hand very tender and Palma could feel it.
Now he looked at her beautiful smiling face. He realised how much he loves her and the sun made her hairs beautiful.

Slowly the Gondola moved to the other side in the direction of Giudecca Island.
They will have a few hours of rehearsal for the concert today at evening.
The innocent girls came all with their music instruments and also the girls and children choir was there.
As they saw Palma and Palmina coming to the Le Zitelle they waved all from their windows.

„Look, Palma and Palmina are coming to make a rehearsal with us. Let us take all our music instruments and come at the concert stage in the garden.

And all the girls and children came in the Le Zitelle Garden to sit at their place on the stage to be ready to make a rehearsal of Palma’s Hymnus.

They continued to dream their Peony Gondola Vision and they saw this:

* * *

The next day Palmina had always to think about Palma’s Piano solo he composed for his beloved Palmina, his inspiration, his Saint Cecilia.

Today she had two talented music students at the Gardens of Giudecca.
The mother of the talented girls is also playing a music instrument and it is very creative to teach them music lessons.

As Palmina went back along the Giudecca island to the »Le Zitelle« she teaches also the girls there in music.

Now she has a little break between her music lessons.
Sitting in her official flat in the 3rd floor of the »Le Zitelle« building she is thinking on her Palma, which has today birthday and she sat down on her little table at the window and started to write a Pigeon-letter mail to her Palma il Giovane who lives on the other side of the Lagoon water on the San Marco Place.
From her window she can see directly to the San Marco Place and she smiled.

She looked to the cage of the Letter-Pigeon and smiled to her.

»After my music lessons here, I will go to Palma and celebrate with him his birthday in our Peony Gondola. But first I will send him a Pigeon-letter mail to wish him happy birthday…«, Palmina thought lucky and smiling.

* * *

Palma felt in this moment that she is writing a letter to her and he stopped for a while his painting work at the famous palazzo in Venice.
In his thoughts he could feel, no he could see her sitting beautifully on her table writing a Pigeon-Letter Mail for him.

In his imagination it looks so beautiful and poetic how his sweet Palmina is thinking and writing for him.
Palma cleaned fast his fingers, full of wet colours and took a sheet of paper and a pencil to draw how he feels and sees Palmina in his deep heart Vision.

Palma made a very fast drawing.

picure 4 - drawing by Palma il Giovane

picture – drawing by Palma il Giovane

Yes, Palma is the INVENTOR OF THE DRAWING AS INDEPENDENT ART DISCIPLINE.
Before Palma there was only the tradition that a pencil drawing is only the draft of an oil painting and the drawing has no meaning for art.
Palma was famous for doing fast and very often own drawings and these drawings had been the first time in the history of art defined as a complete independent art discipline.

Palma send her an imaginary cheek kiss and Palmina smiled in this moment and kissed the letter she wrote:

„Venice, Giudecca-Island 16….

My beloved Palma!

Today on your BIRTHDAY, I write you a little Pigeon-Letter-Mail.
I am so lucky that we can see us now every day and I am now a part of your life.
The Pigeon will fly from here at the »Le Zitelle« over the Lagoon water directly to your window at the 2nd floor at the San Marco Place. And no one will destroy the letter. No one will steal the letter. No one will destroy our deep love and our deep music art friendship.
I know that I am inspiring you and that you are always lucky to be creative in painting, composing and writing in order to these inspirations.
Last time we met in our Peony Gondola at 23 o’clock you composed from your heart a music piece I loved so much – The Piano solo –

Palma, thank you!
My composer, my painter and writer…

I would like to tell you that I am planing to play several compositions from you in my little fine concerts.
Today we can speak about this in our Peony Gondola at 23 o’clock celebrating your birthday.

Dear Palma, I am so looking forward to see you!

Happy birthday, dear Palma!

Your you deeply loving

Palmina, your Pigeon, your Saint Cecilia“

And suddenly a text appeared written in an old Chinese language like this on the evening sky.

„Of all that forces that GIVE JOY things, there is no more gladdening than the LAKE ☱.“

And then Palma took his Viola music instrument and Palmina took her Pipa Lute and they made together music at their Peony Gondola hour at 23 o’clock like this about the image of „LAKE, the joyous“ :

224. Palma tunes his harpsichord after Palmina’s lute

1

And as Palmina heard so directly music from Palma’s heart she realized that she started to dream and Palma put his arm around her during that and she smiled.
Also Palma did. And he could feel her smile at the beginning of this Peony Gondola hour at 23 o’clock. Palmina smiled very strong, Palma could feel it and smiled also, it was not possible not to smile.
Palma dreamed also, the same dream in this moment, in this Peony Gondola hour at 23′ o clock.
And they continued to dream and they saw this:

* * *

Palma was sitting on his harpsichord and realized, as he finished tuning it, that if he tunes his harpsichord after the Lute of Palmina, in well tempered half tones, it was possible to modulate a music through all half-tones in Magior and Minor.
But Palma tried out to play now and it was possible!
Normally here in Venice, in this 16th century, it was not possible to do so on a harpsichord or an organ – the instruments are tuned to play only in a few scale but not in all 12 semitone scale.
Palma will next week ask an organ-tuner to tune a little organ after Palmina’s semitones.
»Do you think, Palmina, he will tune the Organ like my harpsichord in equal like Well-tempered *) 12 semi-tones like your lute and my mandolin are already tuned?«, Palma asked loud, hoping that she is in the room nearby, listening him and that she will come to him in the big representative room of his flat on the San Marco Place in Venice, in the 2nd floor.

picture - Circle of fifths

picture – circle of fiths needs the „well tempered tunning“ –  the „Well temperament“ *)

»Yes, Palma, Yes…I think he will try it after you have shown him how your harpsichord is tuned…wait, I come…«, Palmina answered from the other room.
And now Palmina came with her lute to make music with Palma.
This moments are the most beautiful moments in Palma’s painting and artis’s live.
Palmina is with him and they are now alone, and they only want to do one thing: To make music, to feel the music-harmonic-connection between their hearts.
Palma played a few notes to test his new „lute-tuning“ of this instrument.
And suddenly he felt inspired with thinking on his pure pigeon, his snow-white saint spirit pigeon, bringing him always to new inspiration for his painting music creativity.
And Palma played and played and he tried out this new „Well tempered -12 semi-tons equal-tuning.“

* * *

As they saw this Peony-Gondola vision Palmina was very proud on her Jacopo Palma il Giovane, her painter, her composer, her love-story writer, her deep and only love.

Again she put her head on his side and continued to hear music and it was like that:

*) Well temperament – Wikipedia – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Well_temperament

WELL TEMPERAMENT (also good temperament, circular or circulating temperament) is a type of tempered tuning described in 20th-century music theory. The term is modeled on the German word wohltemperiert. This word also appears in the title of

Some theorists [weasel words] have sought to define „well temperament“ more narrowly to exclude fifths wider than pure, which rules out many such schemes.“

**) Arnolt Schlick – Wikipedia – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnolt_Schlick
Arnolt Schlick (July 18?  c. 1455–1460 – after 1521) was a German organist, lutenist and composer of the Renaissance. He is grouped among the composers known as the Colorists. He was most probably born in Heidelberg and by 1482 established himself as court organist for the Electorate of the Palatinate. Highly regarded by his superiors and colleagues alike, Schlick played at important historical events, such as the election of Maximilian I as King of the Romans, and was widely sought after as organ consultant throughout his career. The last known references to him are from 1521

The first circular temperament was described by the organist Arnolt Schlick in the early 16th century, but „well temperaments“ did not become widely used until the baroque period. Some well-known well temperaments go by the following names:
Werckmeister temperament (invented by Andreas Werckmeister)
French Temperament Ordinaire
Neidhardt
Kirnberger
Kellner
Vallotti (invented by Francesco Antonio Vallotti)
Young
Some temperament schemes feature numbers of perfect, pure fifths and these give enhanced harmonic resonance to instruments and music on which they are played so that music moves into and out of focus between keys as vibrations lock together or not. Werckmeister features 8 perfect fifths, Kellner 7 and Vallotti 6.
The contemporary composer Douglas Leedy has written several works for harpsichord or organ in which the use of a well temperament is required.[citation needed]

And they continued to dream their Peony Gondola dream:

The Gondola moved now slowly along the big Canale Grande.
After a while of silence and looking alongside the beautiful houses.
Palmina and Palma looked at each other.
Palmina played wonderfully for him, although it was a rehearsal for the concert at the Ospedaletto where Crezia is with her broken shoulder.

After her little concert in the Gondola Palma showed her his new music score the music score of „Le Reve – Dreaming Expressions“ for Piano and Violin.

And Palmina smiled and hugged him long and gave him a tender kiss.

Later at the evening concert Palmina played wonderfully and Crezia had tears of joy in her eyes. She felt no pain and the wounds of her broken shoulder seemed to heal faster than expected.

Palmina is not only a good soloist, a good music teacher, she can heal also old wounds.

It was a nice concert and Palma was so lucky to see her playing her music instrument for her.

Palma smiled – Palmina smiled.

And they continued to dream their Peony-Gondola Dream and they saw this:

* * *

Palmina took her Pipa Lute and played the »Thinking on each other Melody« which Palma composed for her. Always if Palmina thought intensive on her Palma il Giovane she played this melody on her Pipa Lute or Venetian Lute.
Suddenly Palma felt a warm tender feeling in and around his heart. It felt like a Peony-Pink-Cyan White light.
Palm felt that Palmina is able to huge Palma only with her love and light fully thoughts.

Palma started suddenly to smile as he realized that and he started to think on her and he played the same Melody on his Viola to express his love for her.
After that he wrote:

»Venice, 15 – –

Dear Palmina!

Today I could feel deeply in my heart that you wrote me a message.
Sure the criminal administrators of the dark sugar earth social network erased it so I will not get any message. Maybe European laws will soon control them and judge them as we all expect it.
How good that we meet today in our Peony Gondola.

I miss you so much. I can’t wait to meet you again in the Peony Gondola.
Today I will hold my painting lesson at the gardens on Giudecca Island. I hope my students can follow my teaching.
I will also learn about Asian painting traditions, especially about traditional Chinese Wood-engraving Artwork. And sure Master Lao will tell us more about cultural traditions…
There are also a lot of Buddhist nuns, some are very,very young and they will held a prayer ceremony in the rooms of the Gardens of the Ming Dynasty Family on Giudecca Island in Venice.
That remembers me on Marco Polo.
Marco Polo was long time in China and was also a high grade politician and governor, personally selected by the Chinese Emperor.
On his way to the Emperor Marco Polo felt in love in a little young buddhist nun, the Chinese Princess. Later he married her and brought her to Venice and lived secretly there in the Gardens of Giudecca Island behind the well protected Walls.

Yes, Palmina, Marco Polo loves her, I mean he loves you, I mean he is still loving you, my inspiring Pigeon and secret princess.

Today a Pigeon was flying and looking like the saint spirit pigeon. She flew directly over me. Maybe a sign or an inspiring moment…

I am writing down the music we heard as we hugged so long in our Gondola.

I love you, my Pigeon, my Inspiration.

Your Jacopo Palma il Giovane.«

95. Formosa Inspiration – traveling from the Island to the concert

Formosa Inspiration – traveling from the Island to the concert

And as their Peony-Gondola flew their way back to Venice, Palmina and Palma had a warm feeling in their hearts.
They know that their decision in their hearts brought them more together and will bring them again together in their real live.
Palmina smiled as she heart Palma playing their secret melody for her.
Palma smiled and felt that she said »YES«. She looked a little bit shy and thought about their future in Venice.
Palmina’s beautiful hairs moved in the soft wind of the flying Gondola along the pink white clouds. Both looked at the clouds and smiled. Palma put his arm around Palmina and loved her.
They observed the beautiful landscapes, the mountains of Italy below them.
They tried to see over which cities they are flying so soft and fast.

Now at their 23rd hour of the day (11 p.m.) Palma and Palmina saw this new vision:

Video: [Mandolinsolo inspiration III ] https://vimeo.com/250977540

* * *

Palma went waiting at the promenade the »Riva degli Schiavoni« (It is only a few steps from the living place from Palmina in Venice at the backers shop at »Campo di Bandiera e Moro« in the 16th century) up and down. He went up and down there in the morning and in the evening.
He looked every day at this promenade, where he went so often with her at the evening and early morning, for something coming along the waters of the Laguna of Venice.
»The concert is in two days… Where is the ship?«
Palma made a long neck to see if there comes a new ship from the south of Venice.

Every day he went to the »Chiesa Santa Maria Formosa«*) and prayed.

*) Santa Maria Formosa – Wikipedia – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Maria_Formosa

»Santa Maria Formosa is a church in Venice, northern Italy. It was erected in 1492 under the design by Renaissance architect Mauro Codussi. It lies on the site of a former church dating from the 7th century, which, according to tradition, was one of the eight founded by San Magno, bishop of Oderzo. The name „formosa“ relates to an alleged appearance of the Holy Virgin disguised as a voluptuous woman

Interior – The artworks in the interior include the St. Barbara polyptych by Palma the Elder (Palma il Giovane’s uncle), one of his most celebrated works. The Conception Chapel houses a triptych of Madonna of Misericordia by Bartolomeo Vivarini (1473), while in the Oratory is the Madonna with Child and St. Dominic by Giambattista Tiepolo (18th century). There is also a Last Supper by Leandro Bassano.«

There is an organ and a painting of Palma’s uncle »Palma Vecchio«.

*) Palma Vecchio – Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palma_Vecchio

»Palma Vecchio (c. 1480 – July 1528), born Jacopo Palma and also known as Jacopo Negretti, was a Venetian painter of the Italian Renaissance. He was born at Serina Alta near Bergamo, a dependency of the Republic of Venice, but his recorded career all took place in or near Venice. He is called Palma Vecchio in English („Palma the Elder“, in Italian Palma il Vecchio) to distinguish him from Palma il Giovane („Palma the Younger“, 1548/50-1628), his great-nephew«

He played now every day something »For Palmina« on the organ and Palmina could feel the moment he plays for her in her heart. Her little finger of her right hand made some pains from her hard rehearsal with the tremolo on her Pipa Luta.

In this moment she smiled secretly and her smile was so beautiful that it was worth living only for her lovely smiling.

Every time he went to the organ at »Formosa«, every time Palmina stopped to rehearsal on her Pipa Lute, closed her eyes and listened to Palma’s Organ playing.

She smiled and she was connected with her heart to him in this secret moment.
Now some birds flew above the ship which is heading to Venice from Palmina’s Island in the east.

She is thinking on Palma’s composition for Pipa solo:

»The 8 Image of the I-Ching 易經«
VIDEO: [ »The 8 Image of the I-Ching 易經« ] https://youtu.be/M9yPwdJuQrg

»It was if the birds wanted to say to Palmina: »He is thinking on you… He is playing a music piece for you… He is expressing his love for you…«
Palmina understood and smiled.
The ship in which she is travelling to Venice since weeks is moving a little bit left and a little bit right. Palmina’s mother saw that Palmina stopped her hard rehearsal for the recent concert on Sunday. She left the cabin, so Palmina could be now alone with her »heart-to-heart communication« with her love Palma il Giovane. Palma’s mother slowly understood how important the relation between Palmina and Palma il Giovane is and what is depending on this artwork for the history of the Republic of Venice and Europe.
Palmina had pains at her left hand, especially at her left wrist.
Palma’s love-waves direct from the heart of Venice, direct from »Formosa« reached Palmina at her »inner-heart« journey to Venice, sitting in the moving ship.
She had her eyes closed and smiled beautifully – her wrist did not hurt any more. She know: It is his love to her – It is her love to him.

Secretly she took the music score – it was not a secret any more that Palmina decided to play Palma’s composition in Venice – and she kissed now the paper on which Palma wrote his composition for her. »His hands wrote this fro me…«
Palmina got all ‚love-letters‘ from Palma by a friendly women who travelled to her island and gave them all to her personally. And there where a lot of music scores for Palmina:

A few composition in Venetian / Asian style like the

and so forth…

Palmina had all this music score on her table in her cabin now.

The ship moved left and the ship moved right – it is like the feeling inside of Palmina. She is preparing for the concert and she is looking forward to see her Palma il Giovane.
The first time she decided to say YES, I want to play this music, even if others don’t accept that.
So she had to face some turbulences because of this decision. But Palmina was now clear: She loves his Palma il Giovane and she wants to follow him during his whole life to support him as human and artist. YES, she wants to play on her lute as much as possible in Venice.

Palmina’s mother was proud of Palmina for this clear decision. This decision made the future between Palma and Palmina much clearer then before.
Palmina opened her eyes and looked on all music scores on her table and smiled so lucky.
Sometimes she lifted a sheet of music paper and kissed it and sometimes she put it on her cheeks to be »a little bit near to her Palma, to her composer, to her painter and to her writer«

Palma felt in this moment that she did this and smiled during he played at the beautiful organ at »Formosa« for her.

Some pigeon sat down at a window at the church to listen how Palma plays for his beloved Palmina.

The Pigeons understood how deep Palma is loving his Palmina Albina. Today two white pigeons sat at the window of the church.

Palma plays and played with all his heart thinking on her.
He prayed that the ship comes good and secure home to Venice.
Palma il Giovane asked the monks to pray.
Palma il Giovane asked Mihaela (Palma’s cousin) to pray.
Palma il Giovane asked princess Lin and their friends and Asian monks to pray for her.
Palma il Giovane asked the Jesuits at the ‚Zitelle‘ on island Giudecca in Venice praying for her. (Their special mission was supporting talented women to have a good and independent cultivated life ) and
Palma il Giovane asked his mother to pray for Palmina.

Now Palma’s mother came with her Violin into the church »Formosa« to play together with Palma at »Formosa« for Palmina.

Palmina smiled as she felt the music now.

And Palmina heart a music like that:

50. Palma send Palmina a sweet Pigeon-post on her birthday-morning

50. Palma send Palmina a sweet Pigeon-post on her birthday-morning

And this very secret and important day goes on with this in their Peony-Vision at their common 23rd hour of the day (11 p.m.):

* * *

Palma is now sitting this morning at his writing table, looking to his white sweet Pigeon, who opens and closed her beautiful eyes, sitting in her little cage.

„Grooo, Groooooooooo…“, she made and Palma listen to her.
Again she made: „Groo, Grooooooooo…“

„…This is it!… I have to send her a pigeon-message! Not only the flowers can send her beautiful thoughts, also the animals like the birds, like this sweet Pigeon can bring her a little letter!“

Palma took smiling a little paper pigeon-post letter-paper, which is much smaller than a normal letter paper.

He kissed the paper and started to write on it:

„Dear Palmina,
mia dolcissima,
wode zuì henkeàide, xinàide baisède geze!

Today in the morning, the first thought was to think on you and to wish you for today’s birthday all the best, much health, luck and music.
I am so glad since the moment I met you again.
Our music inspirations lead me to so much new creations: music and painting.
As I walked once at the Giardino-Garden there was a little bird talking to me and he sung a the happy birthday melody in several variations – as I answered him with melody, similar the way we often made some music dialogues with lute and Viola, I had the inspiration to make today a little music surprise for you today…
But don’t tell it to anyone before the Dogan’s Palace guardians of the Venice-Titian-Art-Gallery will bring you today the official invitation:
They will invite you to come to present your lutes for special guests of our republic.
A ship has announced to come to Venice today with the delegation from the Emperor Rudolph II, which is very interested in art, and wants to order paintings from me. He will be amazed from your Lute playing. He heard that you are the best Lute player of our Republic of Venice – mum informed him and she arranged it that today will be an art-meeting-event with him in our Gallery.
He will bring a lot of Bohemian colorful Glass from Prague and if this event will be fine the Republic will have in the future a good economic relation**) to the Emperor Rudolf II.*)

Rudolf was born in Vienna (18 July 1552 – 20 January 1612), he was Holy Roman Emperor (1576–1612), King of Hungary and Croatia (as Rudolf I, 1572–1608), King of Bohemia (1575–1608/1611) and Archduke of Austria (1576–1608). He was a member of the House of Habsburg.“
**) Venice is also very famous for his glass artworks. The Bohemian glass producers sent them their glass materiel to Venice, so Venice became very famous because of that economic cultural relation between Bohemia and Venice.

This is a possibility that we can see each other!
I cant wait to hear and to enjoy your concert today…
I love you so much, my Pigeon!
If you agree to accept my music surprise, after the official reception ceremony with Emperor Rudolph II, I will be very glad:
Mum ordered a Gondola to bring you to the music surprise:
And we will see us again today a 2nd time at a place where the Gondola is bringing you for my music surprise for you.
And please greet today also your mother from me and my mother.“

Your Palma il Giovane, Venice …th of May 15..“pigeon

Palma closed the little envelope kissed it tender and gave the letter to the Pigeon after he gave his pigeon a soft tender kiss.
He said some very soft words to her and then he let her fly and she flew friendly saying „Grooo… Groooooo..“ directly to the ‚calle de la Pieta“ where Palmina’s little garden was under her window, where Palmina was sitting at her window rehearsing at her lute.

The Pigeon landed on her window very fast and said friendly „Groo, Grooooo…“

Palmina smiled, took her and kissed the Pigeon, finally she stroke her tenderly.
The Pigeon was so lucky to see Palmina again and went voluntary into the cage…

And as she opened the pigeon-letter she slowly smiled more and more and heard soft music with her heart…

* * *

Palma laid himself back into his bed in his little room to dream a music, a music that he composed for her in his dream so that he could tell her a little music message with playing an instrument that will be, in its basically form, invented and created in more than hundred years…

And both could now hear this music dreaming with their heart:

32. Unexpected concert in the church in Venice – and Palmina’s Idea – the present of Prinzess Lin

picture: 2 white pigeons of ‚Mars and Venus‘ by Palma il Giovane

 32. Unexpected concert in the church in Venice – and Palmina’s Idea – the present of Prinzess Lin

And after they heard the musics of the spheres Palmina gave Palma a tender soft kiss.
„I am proud of you, Palma!“
And Palma felt again inspired and started to write down the music of the spheres.
He had only to write down the music they heart at the spheres around them.
Palma’s kiss and her smile and her tender words gave him the power, and he felt it around his heart, to compose this eternal music inspirations.

There was no time-dimension and no space-dimension in this Peony Gondola. So Palma wrote this composition so fast in this 23rd (11 p.m.) hour of the day.

Palmina laid again her had on Palmas side and he put his arm around her sitting in the soft seats of their Peony-Gondola.

He kissed her tender on her cheek and she kissed him tender also on his cheek.

And again they had a vision:

* * *

They saw themselves again in this church in Venice where Palma is painting on his artwork.

She brought Palma again some food and her Lute to play for him in this lonely church.
Palma realized that if she played for him during he is painting her on his big artworks that he is more and more inspired and he works more efficiently and much faster.

And: Palmina’s secret wish was to play with Palma on that Organ.

So she tried to tell this with her smile and with her lute playing.
And she stood up during she played, and played on an other place in the church.
Palma smiled and tried to understand why she is hiding behind the column.

Then he stood up to see where she is.

There was no Palmina – Where is she?

Palma looked around and didn’t find her…

He went around in the church and his smile was not so strong now.

„Palmina?…. Palmina?…Palmina? Mio amore, my pigeon… wode bai sede gezi.. Ni zai nar? Ni zai nali?“

Palma was a little bit sad because he suddenly remembered on that days he didn’t get answer of his letters. Someone stole his letters he thought. And he didn’t find her in Venice for a long time….
BUT he had a heart-to-heart connection to her during this long time. And their hearts could communicate every day, during day and night.

Suddenly Palmina played the „Spring Melody of the 8 Images“ from the Organ like that:

‚Spring Melody of the 8 Images‘

VIDEO: old: https://vimeo.com/261534433 – (password ‚dgpa‘)

new: : https://youtu.be/rrUiJxY4ksc

And she smiled down to him. Now his fears went away. He took a long breath.

„Oh, Palmina wants to play music with me at this Organ“.

Palma went fast the steps up being very lucky about this music idea.

Both knew: This is a secret music meeting in the church.
the church is officially closed because of Palma’s painting working.
So also no priest will realize that they are both at the Organ.*

* For women of the 16th century there and all over Europe it was not allowed to enter the the organ place, where the choir and only boys are singing, during a religious ceremony in the church.
This will not change till the composer time of Joh.Seb.Bach, 100 years later, brings her future wife to the Organ.
As Bach made an official performance with her playing at the Organ he tried to enforce that women can make music at the organ – But this was very difficult, even 100 years after Palma il Giovane…
Only if the female musician was a V.I.P. it was allowed for a women to make music in a church during a religious ceremony or an official concert.
Also Vivaldi had later problems with his female orchestra and girl’s orchestra in Venice.
They where only allowed to play behind a wall and not allowed to be seen by the audience.
( This was much later after Palma il Giovane’s century )
So we can imagine how protected Palmina was by the Dogan’s Palace to play as women in Venice in the public – for a special circle of public – special guests of the Republic of Venice.

* Joh.Seb.Bach (1685 – 1750)- wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johann_Sebastian_Bach

Johann Sebastian Bach (31 March [O.S. 21 March] 1685 – 28 July 1750) was a German composer and musician of the Baroque period. He is known for instrumental compositions such as the Brandenburg Concertos and the Goldberg Variations, and vocal music such as the St Matthew Passion and the Mass in B minor. Since the 19th-century Bach Revival he has been generally regarded as one of the greatest composers of all time.

* Antonio Vivaldi (1678 – 1741)- wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Vivaldi
Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (4 March 1678 – 28 July 1741) was an Italian[2] Baroque musical composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher and cleric. Born in Venice, he is recognized as one of the greatest Baroque composers, and his influence during his lifetime was widespread across Europe. He composed many instrumental concertos, for the violin and a variety of other instruments, as well as sacred choral works and more than forty operas. His best-known work is a series of violin concertos known as the Four Seasons.

* * *

Palmina and Palma are knowing that and so their secret atmosphere here on the organ was a very magic moment.

Palmina started to play the ‚Spring Melody of the 8 Images‘ sending Palma a love-golden-light wave to his heart.
And Palma felt this and answered on the organ with this free-style playing and
„in-between“ she repeated the ‚Spring Melody of the 8 Images‘.
And she played it in the same tempo as she played it in the Venice-Titian-Art-Gallery as sound example for Palma’s speech.

And if we could reconstruct this secret moment today maybe it would sound like that.
No one could see this here; only the sweet pigeons who sat there at the church-windows – the pigeons did bill and coo.

So after they tried out the first time to play Organ and Pipa here in Venice in the 16th century they looked wordless in their eyes.

Now the golden-light was around their hearts. A light Palma often draw in his pictures also in the „Asian Virgin with Child and Saints“.

But their heart had connected deeply during the music so that they looked at each other is only a result of the silent heart-to-heart communication.

Palmina made her mouth to a kiss saying silent „Liuto“.
And he said silent to her with his mouth „Pi – pa“.

Palmina smiled very heart fully.
Palma loved her smile.

„I have an idea“
– „What idea? shèn me yise ma…?“

Palmina came with her sweet mouth very near to Palma’s ear and said tender in his ear something….

Palma moved his head saying „YES!“

* * *

And as Palma and Palmina saw this from their Peony-Gondola he hold Palmina a little bit stronger but tender with his arm and they continued to dream their common dream:

* * *

The next day at the same church:

They saw now the over hundred of people of Chinese delegation coming in that church, taking their seats.

This was Palmina’s clever idea:
Invite the guests of the Art-Gallery and to held the speech and the concert in this church which was now closed for the public.

A lot of candles had been lit and beautifully placed in the church for the fine guests.
Princess Lin was also there with her children and her husband.

They made the painting session here in the church to finish the painting where the painting will also stay in Venice.

Master Lao explained again something about Chinese philosophy.
He spoke also about Kungze *)

*) Kungze – „Confuzius“ – Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confucius
„Confucius“ 551 (BC – 479 BC) was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher of the Spring and Autumn period of Chinese history.
The philosophy of Confucius, also known as Confucianism, emphasized personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice and sincerity. His followers competed successfully with many other schools during the Hundred Schools of Thought era only to be suppressed in favor of the Legalists during the Qin Dynasty. Following the victory of Han over Chu after the collapse of Qin, Confucius’s thoughts received official sanction and were further developed into a system known in the West as Neo-Confucianism, and later New Confucianism (Modern Neo-Confucianism)….“

* * *

Meanwhile Palmina played beautifully her Lute…

Palma explained the drawings of this church and showed how he is painting on his big artworks now.

* * *

The Chinese friends came to look how he is painting.
And also Chinese painter Masters studies his techniques very interested.

Palmina started again to play during the painting session very lovely on her lutes.
The whole rooms are filled with the heart-to-heart golden-light between Palmina and Palma.
The Auditorium could feel it.
Palma was so lucky to know that she supports him with all her heart.

„And now Palma will explain for us the instrument and type of the Italian organ…“, Palmina said very inspired.

This is Palmina: If she wants something…., if she wants something what is good, she does not stop to believe in it and she does not stop to fight for it – but decently and very clever.
This is also something why Palma loves her so much…
Palmina believed in Palma’s music talent and his ability to invent compositions and to write it down.

Palma was surprised by her creative idea: „Should I really play on the organ something to show how the organ sounds?…“, Palma thought.

Palmina saw that he was shy but she smiled very secretly to him. With her smile she gave him power to believe in his music talent.
She went fast up to the organ on the right side and played on her sweet Chinese lute the „Spring Melody of the 8 Images“ and made some variations about it.
Palma felt inspired and went smiling also up to the organ where his Palmina, his Albina, his white Pigeon is waiting for him to give together with him a little „free-inspiration concert“ for the very interested audience from Asia, sitting in the church here in the beautiful Venice.

Beautifully they played and played surrounded by a golden-colour-light…

Princess Lin was amazed and also her whole family….

After the little concert the whole church was filled with applause.

„This was the first concert with Chinese Lute and Venetian Organ in music history of the whole world.“, the people of the audience said.

Princess Lin said to the servants silently something into their ears…

After a while they brought two cage with two white pigeon.

The translator said very solemn:
„Our Princess Lin is amazed by your beautiful concert and your speech about the Venetian-Organ and your demonstration of your actual painting artwork and all music here in this ancient church.
She wants also to say ‚thank you – Xiexie‘ with giving you this beautiful two white pigeons*).“
– all applauded –
„…This pigeons are able to transport letters to each other.
In China the people love to have message pigeons.“

„Pigeon post is the use of homing pigeons to carry messages. Pigeons were effective as messengers due to their natural homing abilities. The pigeons were transported to a destination in cages, where they would be attached with messages, then naturally the pigeon would fly back to its home where the owner could read their mail. They have been used in many places around the world. “

The audience applauded very friendly and nodded and smiled and where amazed.

The Chinese people did understand that Palma and Palmina are a secret love pair and they are loving each other very decently through their hearts.
The Chinese People can understand such heart fully situation…and they feel and see all through their heart and soul…

Palmina came and took the cage with the white pigeon – and also Palma il Giovane came and took as officially present by the Chinese Princess Lin his white Pigeon.

And late at the evening, as the stars shine on the evening sky, Palmina’s mum said to her „Write him a letter, Palmina, write him a letter…“

And Palmina smiled silently and she took her lantern and begun to write. Then she looked thinking to her white pigeon on her table: „…And you will really bring this letter to Palma?“

The pigeon made some tired eyes, wanting to sleep and then she made short, soft sounds as if she wanted to answers „YES! groooo… grooo…“.

* * *

At the same time Palma’s mother said: „Write her a letter, Palma, Write her a letter…You have now the letter-Pigeon…“
Palma started to write…
Then he looked at his white Pigeon on his table:
„You will really bring this letter to my Albina, my Palmina, to my sweet white pigeon?…“
And she answered also something like a ‚pigeon-YES!‘

„…and if you fly to Palmina she will put you at her cage… and we can later exchange the cage on a secret place….“

Palmina and Palma, both could not sleep today, both thought about what they want to write each other and how they would exchange their pigeons on a secret place… (Maybe on the Rialto-bridge, which was created especially for them by Da Ponte.)

* * *

And on the next early morning both gave their pigeons the little letter and send them to fly…
Palmina kissed his pigeon saying „Batsi, batsi,..wode baisede xìngē“ and Palma kissed his Pigeon and said „fly, fly to her and tell her that I love her deeply and also greetings from my mother…“

* * *

Palmina’s Pigeon stared to fly to Palma and Palma’s pigeon started to fly to Palmina.

* * *

Palmina could feel that moment Palma did this and started to smile.

* * *

Palma could feel her smile and smiled also.

* * *

Palmina took her Chinese Lute and plugged:

A – D – E – a

* * *

Palma took his Viola and played:

c – g- d‘ – a

And they flyed and flyed and soon they arrived as it was promised.

Palmina’s Pigeon landed at Palma’s open Window.
As she landed secure she made some friendly sounds and: she wanted to have some tender stokes by him.

Palma stroked her and kissed her, opened the letter of Palmina.

The first letter of Palmina after such a long time. They know each other. Yes, they know each other for a long time since centuries.

And of course the content of their private letter is private.
Not even the pigeons did read it, so if they respect their right of privacy, we do also…

* * *

But as they opened their first letter they received after such a long time we are allowed to tell that Palmina smiled like the rising sun…

„Bad rice, bad rice…“ *)

…and Palma smiled like the happiest man in the history:

He also said „Bad rice, bad rice…“

* „Bad rice…“ is an old tradition to express with this sentence, that something good happened, this Master Lao explained at his speech in the church.

And as Palma and Palmina saw this all in their Peony vision in their Peony-Gondola they dreamed a music like that:
