321. The secret of Palmina – an evening walk in Venice

And they continued to dream their Peony Gondola dream like that:

* * *

»Oh, Palma…I remember her. She was my Asian music teacher. As she followed the invitation to our Philosophical School in South Italy to come with her Master, Master Lao, I learned to play this music instrument Gu Zhin and Gu Zheng and, and my fascination for Asian music instrument she revived in that time period…«

»Oh, Palmina…let us continue…what ever comes…we have such a strong connection«

»Yes, Palma, let us continue…«

IMG_20200126_143103

picture 2 – view of a Gondola in Venice

And now they saw, sitting side-by-side, together in their Peony Gondola at 23 p.m. and they saw this vision of their time in the 16th century in the year 1582 as Saint Theresa of Avila died.
In this year in Venice as they were much younger than in the year 1610
they saw that Palmina and Palma tried to write a letter to each other:

* * *

» Venice, 1582

Dear Palma,

Today I decided to write a message to you.
For security I send you this text also as Pigeon-Mail, so you can proof if the normal letter has been stolen from your Mail Box, as usually from the Administrator of the Dark Sugar Earth Social Media Church.

We have to meet us for a long evening walk in Venice.
We have to talk to each other.
I have to tell you about something what happen in my live and it is important that you hear the truth and not what others say about me in the public.

Looking forward to see you.

Your Palmina, your little yellow canary bird.

Palmina Albina«

And Palmina took her Lute and played the »Thinking on each other melody« several times.

VIDEO: https://youtu.be/Dum0FaJUkpw

* * *

In this moment Palma il Giovane stopped drawing at his artwork as he heard this melody deep in his heart.
His heart feels a warm golden light around his heart and he knows now:
his Pigeon is playing the »Thinking on each other melody« several times.

VIDEO: https://youtu.be/Dum0FaJUkpw

Palmina smiled as she could feel Palma’s reaction.

Palma smiled and Palmina smiled and both could feel it.

What ever happens in their life they would never stop to think on each other.

He wrote:

»Venice, 1582

Dear Palmina!

I feel it, today you wrote a letter to me and the birds outside in the little garden are singing beautiful melodies as messengers for me.
Oh, my Palmina, they told me you want to see me again for a long walk and talk. You want to tell me an important think which happened in your live…
Did I understood the bird correct?
They say a letter Pigeon will come and bring the written message soon.

I am looking forward to hear from you,

my yellow canary bird,
your Palma il Giovane«

* * *

And now they saw them walking in Venice the whole late afternoon till in the late evening, going together, speaking about a very important think in their live:

Now they walk silent a long time side-by side in Venice without talking.

Palma il Giovane waited like an old Chinese Master what Palmina wanted to say to him.
He could feel that Palmina has to say something important, but she did not want to hurt his feelings.

»Palma…«

»Hmmm…?«

»Do you see this ring?«

»Oh, he is new…Does it disturb you when you are playing on your music instrument?«

Palmina suddenly smiled, because Palma seems to say the right words in the right moment.

»Yes, Palma! It disturbs me much.«

Palmina understood the deeper meaning of his words and smiled stronger.

»Yes, exactly about that fact I wanted to speak with you today…«

»What fact?…«

»The fact that I said YES, a few days ago…«

»Yes – to whom?«, Palma said disappointed.

»Oh, no, Palma. It is not like you think…I thought it was a joke…and so I said yes to his question…«

»..but who is he?«

»You know, I was on the concert tour and on my way back I met him and my father asked him to… I mean he is not really my…
…you have to know: As I made my concert career on that island, we got more and more letters from men who wanted to have contact to me and to marry me….«
»Oh, I see..and you made the choice for only one man..«

»Oh, Palma…I did not made my choice…«

»Your father made the choice for your future men?«

»No, no,no, Palma…He asked him to PLAY the ROLE to be my boyfriend only in the public to avoid that one of the music fans wanted to have too close contact for me…«

»I understand…but, why he is now in Venice?«

»Yes, it was a surprise for me and I thought that I have to continue to play his girl-friend after the orders of my father. I thought my father wants that the people of Venice know that I am engaged.«

»Oh, I see, it was only a joke…«

»No, no Palma, this time he made it serious and I have now a Problem…
His family is expecting to marry me to get the citizenship of the Republic of Venice.«

»Oh,,that’s the problem… He is from that island and since 1572 the Republic of Venice has lost its government on that island. The O.S. attacked the country and took the north part of Cyprus Island.«

»Is he from north Cyprus?«

»Yes, Palma, that’s the Problem he is member of the church of O.S.«

»But, Palmina, what’s the problem? If all this was a joke, why is it a problem?«

»The Problem is: He helped me to protect me from the music fans, he played the role of a boy friend in the public – nothing else. And now he wants that we help him to live in Venice. And therefore he said after I said YES, that he wants to get the citizenship of the Republic of Venice.
And he thought I will marry him…as thank you for his help on Cyprus Island.«

»And what does your father say?«, Palma asked like a good friend.

IMG_20200126_143858
picture 3 – 2 Lanterns in Venice

»My father shouted and said ‚Why you did not say NO to this Moslem. Why did you not take Master Giovanni Palma il Giovane, he is a tolerant and good man, he is a successful painter who paints in whole Venice, who paints at the Palazzo Ducale, where the mightiest persons of the world are going in and out….‘, he said and he punished me with his violence«

»And how did your North-Cyprus-fake-boy-friend react after you said him that it was a misunderstanding…?«

Later on the street he punished me violently also violent like father and said »After our religious tradition the women has to obey the husband even she is a Christian«

»I said to him: I am not your wife. – He said that I said Yes in the public. He said he will destroy my music career on Cyprus Island – and he said also that his rich family will support me with money for the concerts if I decide to be his wife.«

* * *

And now both were silent.

Palma was now alone with her.

Palmina made a long sigh – Palma made a long sigh.

He put his strong arm around her.
Palmina could feel his warm energy and she felt Palma takes care for her.

Now they went for a long walk in Venice, the atmosphere of the coming evening made them both very harmonic and full of hope.

They did not say any word, but their hearts communicated with a secret golden light.

After they saw this Peony Gondola Vision Palma took his Viola da braccio and played for Palmina also the »Thinking on each other Melody« and it was like that:

And they continued to dream their Peony Gondola Vision and they saw this:

* * *

picture 1 - view of the different places where composer Gabrieli and composer Monteverdi placed his several choirs (often 3 or 4) and instrumental groups within the same composition in this San Marco Cathedral in Venice.jpg

picture 1 – view of the different places where composer Gabrieli and composer Monteverdi placed his several choirs (often 3 or 4) and instrumental groups within the same composition in this San Marco Cathedral in Venice

After Cousine Mihaela sung so beautiful her Sopran Aria, Master Gabrieli stood up from the Organ to conduct several Choirs.

They sung also a composition of Gabrieli composed for several choirs and instrument groups, standing at different positions in the Church Basilica San Marco in Venice.

»It sounds to be like in heaven!«, Giulia, Palma’s younger daughter said.
Palma was lucky that his daughter’s are interested in arts and music. Giulia is also making progress in her study of painting in the Titian academy.
Giulia is finishing Palma’s painting with landscapes, trees, the buildings etc… in the background part of his paintings.
Palma smiled to his Giulia proud.

From all directions, from up left and from up right, there is coming choir- and ensemble music.

»Did Master Gabrieli compose this music piece for 4 choirs, standing on 4 different positions in our golden Basilica?«, Palma thought and looked around the golden Basilica to find the place where the musicians are making wonderful music.

During the music he begun to think about the recent private concert in Palma’s flat with its big private concert hall: »Hm, Heinrich Schütz could play the Harpsichord at this concert… Hm, hm, and Palmina could play the Lute part…
…at the actual performance of Claudio Monteverdi’s¹) L’Orfeo²) in our palace on San Marco Place, in the 2nd floor.
There will be special honour guests of our republic of Venice.
Hm, hm, hm,… and if Claudio Monteverdi says that he is a brilliant musician, then I can tell this positive words about Schütz as musician to Master Gabrieli at our next tea time meeting…«, Palma thought silent and smiled.

Palmina smiled because she also thinks »That is a good idea, Palma…«

»..how can I make Heinrich Schütz to be not only Master Gabrieli’s music student, but to be his Master Student?
Maybe with this idea…!«, Palma il Giovane thought.

There are a lot of music students coming with money to study in Venice, to study music or to study painting; but to be a Master student, this is a big privilege.

You have not only to be a very, very good music student, you have to be also choosen by the Master himself.

* * *

As they saw this Peony Gondola Vision, Palmina and Palma sat beside in the Peony Gondola at 23 p.m.

Palma could feel that Palmina’s left hand ring finger is painful because of doing rehearsal so much.

Palma took her left hand and kissed her tender and soft to heal her hand and her ring finger.

Palmina smiled shy and her pain was gone.

»Palmina?«

»Hm?«

»You are preparing a new concert?«

»Yes, Palma, my Master. I want also to play a composition of you in my next concert and I send you a messenger to inform you.
Hm, but it seems that the Administrators of the church of social media have stolen my letter to you…«

»Palmina…« and he kissed her hand again soft and tender, full of love and light, full of golden light, »…in my heart I felt your positive thoughts towards me. In the nature a little bird sung a melody from you and I listened to the bird lucky. I am very lucky that you want to play a composition of me.«

»…you remembered that Master Lao said to you 1000 years ago that we will met again… I give you from now on your old name Mia. I was your Master once and I was your…«

Palmina smiled and hugged suddenly his old Master and said with her soft voice:
»Oh, Master. We have now the chance to work together in inspirative way as artists and you have given me back my old name: Mia«

»Yes, Mia!
Si certo, mia dolcissima Mia!«

»Oh, my old Master P…«

»Psst, don’t say my name!«, Palma said fast.

»Oh, wo de dà shi G…«

»Psst, don’t say my name!«, Palma said also fast.

»Oh, mio maestro Palma il Giovane!«

And Palma hugged her now stronger and both had tears in their eyes.

Now they saw suddenly Master Lao on heaven and he showed them a interesting Vision about the century of Mia (before Lao tze came to the West); the moment as Xuan Ming was choosen as Master Student of Lao tse and his personal writing-secretary and his personal taking-care-of him-secretary:

¹) Claudio Monteverdi (1567 – 1643) – Wikipedia – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claudio_Monteverdi

»Claudio Giovanni Antonio Monteverdi (15 May 1567 (baptized) – 29 November 1643) was an Italian composer, string player and choirmaster. A composer of both secular and sacred music, and a pioneer in the development of opera, he is considered a crucial transitional figure between the Renaissance and the Baroque periods of music history.«

»[…] Monteverdi’s early musical training, or evidence that (as is sometimes claimed) he was a member of the Cathedral choir […]. Monteverdi’s first published work, a set of motets, Sacrae cantiunculae (Sacred Songs) for three voices, was issued in VENICE in 1582, when he was only fifteen years old.«

²) »L’Orfeo – Wikipedia – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%27Orfeo
L’Orfeo, sometimes called La favola d’Orfeo [la ˈfaːvola dorˈfɛːo], is a late Renaissance/early Baroque favola in musica, or opera, by Claudio Monteverdi, with a libretto by Alessandro Striggio. It is based on the Greek legend of Orpheus, and tells the story of his descent to Hades and his fruitless attempt to bring his dead bride Eurydice back to the living world. It was written in 1607 for a court performance during the annual Carnival at Mantua. While Jacopo Peri’s Dafne is generally recognised as the first work in the opera genre, and the earliest surviving opera is Peri’s Euridice, L’Orfeo is the earliest that is still regularly performed.«

266. Lao tze saves innocent musicians at HAN-GU-Pass(函谷關 / 函谷关)

After they saw this Peony Gondola Vision they heard suddenly a soft beautiful female voice crying:

* * *

The female voice cried:

»Father, father! Do not make violence against me!!!!

…No…
Please, do not stroke my body…
…Noooo…
Please do not again such violence.
I am a musician…
Don’t hurt me so much, father, father…
What did I do wrong…?«

But they did not see what happened.

* * *

After that they saw this Vision suddenly they saw this:

* * *

On the sky, at the clouds in white colours Master Lao appeared shining.
Master Lao smiled and beside him was a beautiful intelligent female musician with an Asian music instrument.

A voice said: „I saved her life and she plays the Gin music instrument.
She became my music master student. She will follow my spiritual way in the west with a lot of others to meet the West-Music-Master. So I will send a messenger who will learn his language being able to translate my letter for him, asking him if he can send an official invitation to me and my students and musicians to enter his country and to visit his famous well known philosophical school.“

* * *

Then the Peony Gondola moved to the time of Lao tse and
landed at HAN-GU-Pass (函谷關 / 函谷关).
Now they saw this:

A group of female musicians and female singers gave in the last days beautiful concerts in the kingdom and had a lot of success.
They travelled from town to town after they get an official invitation to play as very famous and fine concert event of the town.

Now the Master of the HAN-GU-Pass (函谷關 / 函谷关) send an official invitation for the artists to play in their famous representative palais of the town.

Master Lao was also on his way and was also invited to this concert.

Full of expectation he comes there and wanted to send his new letter from there to the famous founder of his philosophical music school in far, far WEST.
Here he can stay a while till the answer from his old, old friend will come back to this west-china border station of the HAN-GU-Pass.

But a religious extremist group, spying all over the country found out that Master Lao will attend the concert at the famous palais at HAN-GU-Pass and they tried to plan an evil strategy against the meeting of the famous musicians and Master Lao.

* * *

In a secret meeting those members of an illegal religious extremist group meet and talked like that:

»…we can make intrigues against this concert. We have only to give orders to arrest them as criminals even they are innocent. We can use the laws for this…«

»Ai ya, good idea, I am working at the government as high office person and can use my mighty position to cancel the musicians from the program…Is the program printed yet?…«

»Oh, yes the concert invitation was sent all over the region in all parts along the kingdom. All will expect that Xie Ming will play the solo part in the concert.
We have to arrest them all and give orders to…
…and our religion will be expanded also in this culture here…60% of our religious members have high positions in the government. So we will soon influence all others – Ha,ha,ha.
Oh, our religious founder is great…«

»..Yes, our religious founder, he is great….«

»…great…«, all members said.

224. Palma tunes his harpsichord after Palmina’s lute

224. Palma tunes his harpsichord after Palmina’s lute

1

And as Palmina heard so directly music from Palma’s heart she realized that she started to dream and Palma put his arm around her during that and she smiled.
Also Palma did. And he could feel her smile at the beginning of this Peony Gondola hour at 23 o’clock. Palmina smiled very strong, Palma could feel it and smiled also, it was not possible not to smile.
Palma dreamed also, the same dream in this moment, in this Peony Gondola hour at 23′ o clock.
And they continued to dream and they saw this:

* * *

Palma was sitting on his harpsichord and realized, as he finished tuning it, that if he tunes his harpsichord after the Lute of Palmina, in well tempered half tones, it was possible to modulate a music through all half-tones in Magior and Minor.
But Palma tried out to play now and it was possible!
Normally here in Venice, in this 16th century, it was not possible to do so on a harpsichord or an organ – the instruments are tuned to play only in a few scale but not in all 12 semitone scale.
Palma will next week ask an organ-tuner to tune a little organ after Palmina’s semitones.
»Do you think, Palmina, he will tune the Organ like my harpsichord in equal like Well-tempered *) 12 semi-tones like your lute and my mandolin are already tuned?«, Palma asked loud, hoping that she is in the room nearby, listening him and that she will come to him in the big representative room of his flat on the San Marco Place in Venice, in the 2nd floor.

picture - Circle of fifths

picture – circle of fiths needs the „well tempered tunning“ –  the „Well temperament“ *)

»Yes, Palma, Yes…I think he will try it after you have shown him how your harpsichord is tuned…wait, I come…«, Palmina answered from the other room.
And now Palmina came with her lute to make music with Palma.
This moments are the most beautiful moments in Palma’s painting and artis’s live.
Palmina is with him and they are now alone, and they only want to do one thing: To make music, to feel the music-harmonic-connection between their hearts.
Palma played a few notes to test his new „lute-tuning“ of this instrument.
And suddenly he felt inspired with thinking on his pure pigeon, his snow-white saint spirit pigeon, bringing him always to new inspiration for his painting music creativity.
And Palma played and played and he tried out this new „Well tempered -12 semi-tons equal-tuning.“

* * *

As they saw this Peony-Gondola vision Palmina was very proud on her Jacopo Palma il Giovane, her painter, her composer, her love-story writer, her deep and only love.

Again she put her head on his side and continued to hear music and it was like that:

*) Well temperament – Wikipedia – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Well_temperament

WELL TEMPERAMENT (also good temperament, circular or circulating temperament) is a type of tempered tuning described in 20th-century music theory. The term is modeled on the German word wohltemperiert. This word also appears in the title of

J.S. Bach’s famous composition „Das wohltemperierte Klavier„, The Well-Tempered Clavier.“

„The first circular temperament was described by the organist ARNOLT SCHLICK**) in the early 16th century[citation needed], but „well temperaments“ did not become widely used until the baroque period. They persisted through the classical period, and even survived into the late 19th century in some areas, for example in Italy. [citation needed]
There are many well temperament schemes, some nearer meantone temperament, others nearer equal temperament. Although such tunings have no wolf fifth, keys with many sharps or flats still do not sound very well in tune (due to their thirds). This can contrast chords in which vibrations are concordant with others where the vibrations are not harmonically related. Some theorists [weasel words] have sought to define „well temperament“ more narrowly to exclude fifths wider than pure, which rules out many such schemes.“

**) Arnolt Schlick – Wikipedia – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnolt_Schlick
Arnolt Schlick (July 18?  c. 1455–1460 – after 1521) was a German organist, lutenist and composer of the Renaissance. He is grouped among the composers known as the Colorists. He was most probably born in Heidelberg and by 1482 established himself as court organist for the Electorate of the Palatinate. Highly regarded by his superiors and colleagues alike, Schlick played at important historical events, such as the election of Maximilian I as King of the Romans, and was widely sought after as organ consultant throughout his career. The last known references to him are from 1521

The first circular temperament was described by the organist Arnolt Schlick in the early 16th century, but „well temperaments“ did not become widely used until the baroque period. They persisted through the classical period, and even survived into the late 19th century in some areas, for example in Italy.
Some theorists[weasel words] have sought to define „well temperament“ more narrowly to exclude fifths wider than pure, which rules out many such schemes.
Some well-known well temperaments go by the following names:
Werckmeister temperament (invented by Andreas Werckmeister)
French Temperament Ordinaire
Neidhardt
Kirnberger
Kellner
Vallotti (invented by Francesco Antonio Vallotti)
Young
Some temperament schemes feature numbers of perfect, pure fifths and these give enhanced harmonic resonance to instruments and music on which they are played so that music moves into and out of focus between keys as vibrations lock together or not. Werckmeister features 8 perfect fifths, Kellner 7 and Vallotti 6.
The contemporary composer Douglas Leedy has written several works for harpsichord or organ in which the use of a well temperament is required.[citation needed]

105. Deeper Meaning of Wise Words – Palmina is a clever musician

105. Deeper Meaning of Wise Words – Palmina is a clever musician

This they saw in their Peony hour in their Peony Gondola, sitting in their soft seats.
Palmina put again his head to Palma’s side and Palma surrounded her with his arm giving her again a good hold.
They continued to dream their common Peony-Dream and they saw:

* * *

Palma and Palmina hugged themselves long and deep.
Palmina said: »Now we can see us every day….«
Palma also said: »Yes, this is wonderful. As we could not see and hear and write each other I thought every day on you. I wrote nearly every day…I played for you on my instruments and I hoped, and Mihaela prayed also for us, that we can see us again… hear us again,…«
Palma stopped suddenly thinking about his day-dream.

»’hear‘ …’see’… this where Master Lao’s words in my day-dream«

»In your daydream…?«

»Yes, he said: ‚First you will feel her,
then you will hear her,
then you will see her.‘ – What did he mean with this words…?«

Palmina thought and was silent.

»I don’t understand the meaning of this words, Palmina…..«

»first you feel her…could Master Lao say ‚First you feel her with your heart…’«, Palmina said fast an made her beautiful small eyes, like she does if she is concentrated.

»Oh YES… Do you remember?…..as we could not speak, and could not see us, could not write us, could not hear us….During this time we could FEEL us with our heart-to-heart communication….«, Palma said.

»Yes, Master Lao wanted to say us: First you feel me with your heart – without hearing and seeing me the first time…«

»…then I will hear you – Playing the Pipa-Lute…«, Palma said joyful.

»….’Then you will ’see‘ her – means not only to see someone with the eyes – it means ‚to see somebody‘ – ‚to meet somebody‘ or ‚to talk personally with someone’«, Palmina said now lucky.

»’First you feel her – then you hear her – then you see‘ Now this words of Master Lao have a deeper meaning. Master Lao wanted to say us that our hearts are directly travelling to meet us in our future live – You will play for me the Pipa – and I will speak with you after I heard you playing.«, Palma il Giovane said.

»Only to understand the deeper spiritual meaning of wise words… It is like the old Chinese ‚Book of Change the I – Ching‘ only a deeper understanding opens our eyes and ears to see and hear and to feel what is the right meaning of the wise words.«, Palma il Giovane said.

»It is the right understanding of Master Titian’s mythological paintings…The paintings are not only to show the human body after it’s nature – it is to understand the spiritual dimension of his creations. The SPIRIT in the artworks is like the SPIRIT in the words of the I-Ching«, Palmina said very wise.

Again Palma was surprised about Palmina’s wise words. She learned so much by only silent listening the lessons in the Titian-School and Palma’s speech about art, culture, traditions, old texts*) he held in the Venice-Titian-Art-School.

*) The Renaissance was also the time of discovery and translation of ancient texts which are hundreds and thousands of years old.

Palma nodded and smiled.
Palmina played not only wonderful her Lutes, she understands also all which is told in Schools of Venice. This moment remembers Palma also the Peony-Vision of the »The School of Athens«**) *) with Theano, Pythagoras best Scholar and ‚Little Palmina‘ , his’s best musician playing on his new created music instruments for Asia and Europe.
Palma could study this painting in Rome as he lived at the embassy.

Palmina could read in his heart and saw his thoughts.

Palma felt that she understood him with the ‚heart-to-heart‘ communication.

*) painter Raphael (wikipedia) did express this moment with »The School of Athens«**)

Palma send her a spiritual kiss and Palmina felt this imaginary ‚heart-to-heart‘ kiss on her cheek.
Palmina smiled and opened and closed fast her eyes like an innocent deer.
Her beautiful decent smile was for Palma a secret answer who gave him hope, love and light.

In his heart he transformed also this inspiring talks in their secret gardens of Venice into paintings full of beauty and into secret compositions for Palmina.

How lucky Palma was if Palmina learned a new composition from him on her lutes and played them during the painting artwork of Palma.

How lucky his heart was to say silently »This is my Palmina Albina; this is my Lute playing Palmina. She plays only for me this composition. No one knows that I am the creator and composer of this music. All students and people in Venice liked my music creation but only Palmina knows that I am the composer. Music is also connecting our hearts. With music we can say us things other can never understand by listening the music.«,Palma thought and Palmina heart his thoughts and smiled.

»Palmina you are my personal Angel and my personal saint spirit. «
»Isn’t the white pigeon often a symbol of the saint spirit on your paintings?«, Palmina asked directly after she followed his deep secret thoughts.

»Yes, but not only in my paintings…all over Venice…and..«

In this moment the two white Pigeons landed on the Y-psilon formed tree in the background of that beautiful secret garden.

Palma and Palmina turned around and felt that this Pigeons had a long common flight over Venice.

Both smiled.

»Groo, Groooooooo« made the sweet tender loving Pigeons.
